Lori Chan is the new branch manager of Monterey County Free Libraries' Marina Branch. Born and raised in Hong Kong, Lori speaks fluent Cantonese and Mandarin. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University, a Master's degree in Financial Management from the University of London, and a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University. Before starting her duties on September 2, 2008 at the Marina Branch Library, Lori worked as a librarian at the Seaside Branch Library where she provided reference and children's services. Lori's goals for the Marina Branch include enhancing current services and introducing new adult and youth programs, promoting reading and learning in the community, and maximizing collaboration and connections with schools and community organizations.
